A Company Overview of the History, Business Strategy, and Board of Directors of Apple Computer Inc. Essay

In April 1976, three engineers founded the company Apple Computer Inc. in Los Altos, California. They started with the development of motherboards, and continued to expand their product line to include hardware, software, and accessories. Currently, the company handles the end-to-end development, production, and sale of these various commodities. They also utilize digital stores to sell applications and content, including both their own creations as well as third party ones. Apple makes use of retail stores, eCommerce, wholesale, and other third parties to sell their hardware and accessories. The company sells to a variety of customers including individual consumers, businesses, schools, and government organizations. As of 2015, Apple Inc. is a multinational, publicly traded company headquartered in Cupertino, California. They are currently the most valuable brand in the world, making up approximately 1.25 of the United States' total GDP. In order to achieve these feats, Apple has developed a very detailed and effective business strategy. Their primary strategy lies in the continued focus on innovation. Every year Apple comes out with new products which present creative technologies. Furthermore, customers enjoy the products' simple and streamlined features that allow each person to quickly adopt Apple's services. Furthermore Apple's products are easily integratable to third party apps and accessories. This third party network is a major asset to Apple as users have a wide range of applications available to use on their apple products, reaching all functionalities. A combination of these strategies, along with an ever expanding distribution network has created a dedicated customer base.Apple is guided by 8 people on the Board of Directors.
