An Analysis of the Business Practices of Wisconsin Nicaragua Partners Essay
One of the first things that pops up when you Google Wisconsin Nicaragua Partners is their website and below that are a plethora of articles containing praises of all the work that this organization achieved and documenting the success of this nonprofit. Our local newspaper, The Stevens Point Journal, wrote a piece on the nonprofit celebrating 50 years of service. The article mentions our local McDonalds remodel that took place in 2012 and how all the old furnishing werent discarded in a landfill but instead the benches and tables were repurposed in Nicaragua for waiting room seating at hospitals and reading areas in learning centers. Another highlight of the article, talked about Stevens Points 30 retired emergency vehicles that the WisconsinNicaragua Partners transported down to help those in need. (Lawder, 2014). Another local news source posted a blog article about this nonprofit. WAOW posted an article about a representative of the Nicaraguan Embassy coming to Stevens Point to thank them for the work that they have been doing for his country. Felix Cisneros was quoted saying this about his people, Now these people, women especially have a task or something where they can create a business, can survive, make a life, it does make a lot of difference (Terlecki, 2016). Not only have the Wisconsin Nicaragua Partners made our local news but they have made an impact nationally. Great Nonprofits had a page of testimonials. Some write about the great experience they had writing childrens books for the lending libraries. Others wrote about how this nonprofit personally impacted them. One person in particular, Collete P. is quoted saying, No other organization has offered such a return on investment of my time, dollars, friendships and feelings (Collete, 2016).From the looks of these articles, the local and national support is astounded for what a small Wisconsin town can accomplish for a country.
