Think was written by Aretha Franklin and her husband Ted White. Aretha Louise Franklin was born on March 25, 1942 (age 74) in Memphis, Tennessee. Aretha was married to her husband Ted White from 1961 to 1969, then was married to Glynn Turman from 1978 to 1984, and had four children in total. She has won 35, and nominated for 47, music awards from 1968 to 2015 received from the following ceremonies Grammy Awards, Grammy Special Awards, American Music Awards, Critics Choice Movie Awards, Golden Globe Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, NAACP Image Awards, TV Land Awards, Down Beat, and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. She has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in 1987, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 1994, UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005, GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2012, and Buffalo Music Hall Of Fame in 2016. Also, in 2005 Aretha received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from the President of the United States at the time. The song was released as single in 1968, from her Aretha Now album. Aretha has performed this song for decades after its release. The song was used in a musical sequence of the 1980 film The Blues Brothers, as a public service announcement during the late 1980s for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, in the movie Bridget Jones The Edge of Reason (2004), and in the theatrical trailer to Seth MacFarlane's Ted 2 in 2015.Since this song became so iconic, hundreds of famous and up-coming artists have covered parts of the song and the song as a whole.
