A Report on a Large Group Lecture Consisting of a Speech from Professor Deb Notsky from the Syracuse University and a Small Group Lecture with Computer Exercises Essay
This week's large group lecture consisted of a very interesting speech from Deb Notsky. She is a professor at Syracuse University. She spoke to us about the topics of participation and networking. She told us a lot about participation. She gave us her grading structure for participation which consisted of an A being weekly in-class participation, B is regular participation, a C is occasional participation, and a D is no-class participation. She explained that participation is one of the most important parts of a class and especially in college courses. She for the most part talked to us about networking. She told us about Carly Fiorina the CEO and president of Hewlett Packard. She went over emerging forces, future expectations, a networked economy, and skills needed in a network economy. She basically presented this to us through basic discussion and a number of overhead slides. I enjoyed listening to Professor Notsky speak. She also taught us about the network economy and how it is going to change our future. For example, we probably won't have classrooms in thirty years. Instead we'll probably learn through some sort of distance learning. This week's small group lecture consisted of a number of computer exercises. We had to do a word, excel, power point, and a number of other Internet exercises. It consisted of using our computer skills and combining our skills with other group...
