IntroductionThe strategy that an organization uses has a major impact on their overall success. A key part of organization strategy is related to their logistics and supply chain management. Some companies opt to offer low prices to consumers by having their products or foods produced in other nations for a lower rates. On the other hand, some other companies choose to use domestic suppliers in order to promote local farmers and help stimulate the economy. Kroger is an American retailer that was founded in 1883. The company employs 431,000 individuals and operates all across the United States. The Kroger company uses a strategy of using domestic suppliers and paying attention to social and environmental issues that impact people living in the United States.Supply ChainThe Kroger company cares about the entire supply chain process. Some organizations simply offer low prices to consumers and will do whatever it takes in order to be able to generate revenue while still offering low prices. In some cases, they used unethical tactics and unsustainable production methods in order to achieve their goal. Kroger is different. The company website has information on the things that they pay attention to with regard to their supply chain.Organic FoodsOne strategy that the company uses is to offer organic foods. Some other organizations offer foods that are heavily processed. In addition, some farms use methods of production that are harmful to animals and the environment. The Kroger organization is different because they are dedicated to offering fresh and healthy food options for their customers. They accomplish such a task by using local farmers. Each of their store locations is placed within a reasonable distance of a local farm or sea port. The company then picks up food from that farm and delivers it to the store. The result is that customers have the option of purchasing fresh and organic food. Any farm can try to claim that they offer organic foods and use sustainable practices....
