An Educational Experience of Playing The Stock Market Game Essay

The Stock Market Game was an educational experience that perfectly simulated the real Stock Market. Having the ability to buy actual stocks while using real time makes the game a perfect replication of the real market. Furthermore, you can even use different strategies in order to do better, which adds more to the educational experience.When I played The Stock market game, I used some strategies to help benefit my profit. In the duration of the game, Valentines Day, St. Patricks Day, and releases of new products all occurred, and I used these events to my advantage. For example, before Valentines Day, I bought stocks that were relevant to Valentine merchandise Such as, chocolates, flowers, cards, and other gifts like these. Also, I invested in stocks that seemed to be at a state where they might rise. For instance, I bought Office Depot when it was at a low state, but looked like it was going to rise, and I benefitted greatly as the stock rose a lot over the next few days, and I profited. Lastly, I bought stocks in bulk. In order for me to gain a substantial profit, I had to buy stocks in bulk, so when I went to buy a stock, I usually bought 500-1,000 shares in order to ensure a beneficial profit. All in all, varied strategies are valuable in the game because it helps both your congenital development, and your total profit in the game.These strategies worked for me very well in the first few weeks. However, the stocks I purchased started to fall a lot and I lost a bunch of money which set me at a downfall. Overall, my ranking was 239 out of 279, and I had a total equity of 98,286.04.
