Comparing and Contrasting how the characters, Mustapha Mond and John, in the novel Brave New World View Creativity Essay

What influences a person to spark creativity? Does intelligence play a major role in a persons creative mind? Why does creativity even matter? For a person to develop morality - which is defined as the differentiation on ones actions, decisions, intentions and what it means to be human through right and wrong - they need to aspire enhancing their creativity. Being creative provides the opportunity to interpret the world in different ways and develop moral judgments. In the novel Brave New World, the citizens of the World State are created with the deprivation of a normal childhood. What is a normal childhood? It is the opportunity to be creative. For example, trying to make macaroni necklaces without the urge to eat it. Building a snowman during the holidays. Playing house with friends and family just to have the chance to be in charge. The list could go on and on. Without the privilege to experience creativity, a person will not fully develop morality. The differentiable beliefs regarding what it means to be human are contrasting between Mustapha Mond and John through their past experiences, prevalence in values and their pursuits for happiness, which reveals how being creative is essential for a person to develop morality. Mond came to the World state with a unique background as well as a unique perspective on the history of the World State. When describing the history of the world state to the touring young boys Mond says, Try to realize what it was like to have a viviparous mother. Try to imagine what living with ones family meant, (42). The boys responded with disgusted looks to the word mother. Mustapha Mond has been conditioned as well as all the citizens of the world state to quiver when the word mother is expressed. John experienced an inimitable upbringing through the reservation.
