The Similarities and Differences Between Perseus and Thesus in Regards to Their Heroism Essay

Whos a better hero? Perseus or Theseus. A hero is a person who learns and grows, takes risks, overcomes obstacles, makes sacrifices and has human flaws. Between Perseus, the half human half God and Theseus, the human, Theseus is the better hero. They are both heroes in their own way, but Theseus is more of one. In this essay, I will compare and contrast and explain why Theseus is the better hero. Perseus and Theseus had many similarities. One similarity they had was their bloodlines. Perseus had a son, Hercules grandfather. Theseus and Hercules are cousins which makes them related in a way. They both had people that wanted to kill them. The person that wanted to kill Thesus was king Aegeus and the people that wanted to kill Perseus were Polydectus and Acrisius. Finally, they both offered themselves to kill monsters and they succeeded. By these similarities it seems like they are a lot alike.Not only did Theseus and Perseus have many similarities, but they had many differences as well. One difference is who they were and where they came from. Perseus was a Demi God and his father was Zeus. Theseus is all human and his dad is the King of Athenian. Another difference between Theseus and Perseus was Theseus did things for people and Perseus did things for himself. For example, Theseus killed the Minotaur for the people while Perseus killed Medusa for a wedding gift. Last but not least, Theseus killed the Minotaur with his bare hands and punched him to death and Perses got help from Zeus and the other Gods to kill Medusa by getting supplied and weapons.I choose Theseus to be the hero over Perseus for many reasons.
