An Analysis of the Debate of Traditional Versus Progressive Education Essay

The debate of Traditional vs. progressive education has been goingon since the first school was built. Both sides has its ups and downs,but I believe that the best form of education is progressive. Progressiveeducation prepares us better for the real world.Progressive education, unlike traditional, lets the teachers reachthe kids in the era. For example with progressive the instructors usereal life situations teach the students, instead of from a textbook. Withusing real life examples the kids can relate and understand better thanthings coming out of a ten year old textbook. Therefore the pupils will bemore attentive to what the teacher is saying. In addition in place ofsixteen year old tests the students will be tested on information vital tothe real world. This will make your students more apt to make it in theworld of work. Also then they will be able to make the right designswhen the grow up. With all that said, progressive education clearlyThe education system should be progressive because it focuses onthe freedom if the learner. For example instead of external disciplebeing used free activity is used. That drops the fear that the teacher canpunish you for nothing more than looking at himher funny. This alsoallows the pupil to see that something good comes from life instead ofjust punishment. In addition instead of being stuck use the sametextbook, the same assignments, and the same texts teachers canmakeup their up own and assignments. This allows the instructor tomake it so the students heshe has can understand and find itinteresting. This will help the students to learn more then they thoughtthey could. Progressive education is the way to go for freedom of theStudents no longer look at their teacher as a group of know it allwhos only fun is to question little kids on stuff they do not know.
