We, the people need to do something about this matter before it takes a serious toll economically, environmentally and politically. Twenty-one thousand people a day are dying from starvation! That means every hour 875 people die, every minute 15 people die and every 4 seconds a human life, a living, breathing person just like you and I dies of starvation. Yet without hesitation and thinking, globally we throw away enough food to feed 3 billion people! That is just shy of half of the worlds population. Kind of frightening when you think about it hey.On average an Australian household discards 20 of the food they purchase. To put this into an easy to understand perspective, if youre household shopper was to come home with ten bags of groceries, two of those bags would end up being thrown out in the end. Now, if youre somebody that goes shopping every Sunday of the year and buy ten bags of groceries each shop you would end up buying 520 bags of groceries per year, 20 of which would end up being thrown out. Thats around 100 bags of groceries per year, which is a lot of food and money to be throwing out, around 1000 worth of products to be exact. Imagine how much you would appreciate that...
