An Introduction to the Analysis of Cookies Essay

What comes to mind when thinking of cookies? What cookie is it that stands above the rest? Has any other cookie been so popular? Chocolate chip cookies are by far the most popular cookies known today in America. Before enjoying a batch of these delicious, mouthwatering treats, there are a few steps in preparing them. Three areas of importance are making sure all the ingredients are present, putting together the ingredients, and actually baking these cookies. First of all, when preparing any baked item, all ingredients should be present. Put the following items on a counter or somewhere with easy access. First have two-thirds cup of shortening, two-thirds cup of butter or margarine softened, one cup of brown sugar, and one cup of granulated sugar out and in sight. Next, two eggs, two teaspoons of vanilla, three cups of flour, and one teaspoon of baking soda are needed. Lastly, one teaspoon of salt, one cup of chopped nuts, which are optional, and two packages or twelve ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips are the final ingredients. These eleven things are crucial to the cookies and should be put in plain sight. Secondly, all ingredients must be put together before enjoying the yummy treats. Preheat the conventional oven to 375. Mix these ingredients thoroughly shortening, butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, nuts, which are optional, and chocolate chips. If softer and rounder cookies are desired, add another one-half cup of flour. The ingredients are now fully put together. Lastly, the cookies are ready to be baked. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons two inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake them for eight to ten minutes depending on the available oven, or until golden brown.
