An Analysis of the Chinese Food's Popularity in the United States Essay

People in the south have a tendency to spend most of their leisure time eating. If we love eating, then perhaps we should try different varieties of food. There are several types of food that have unique tastes. Chinese food and soul food are two similar types of food however, they are also very distinct.Chinese food is very popular in the United States. Many people love Chinese food because it is very delicious. Chinese food is prepared with a different variety of cooking utensils. The wok is the predominant cooking utensil in the Chinese kitchen. It is used for stir-frying, deep-frying, pan-frying, steaming, and stewing. Another Chinese utensil is the spatula and it is used for stir-frying in the wok. The utensil that is similar to the American casserole dish is the clay pot. The clay pot is used on top of the stove and it is a good retention of heat, so that even if dinner is delayed, the food still stays piping hot. Seasonings play a supporting role in the kitchen because they enrich the flavor of the food itself rather than overpower it. Some of the seasonings are soya sauce which is a dark-brown liquid made from fermented soya beans and flour. Rice wine is another seasoning which is a clear yellow wine for which sherry is an acceptable substitute. Chinese red pepper is aromatic and not "hot" at all. Ginger root is a tender root that gives delicate flavor. Taste powder is a white powder made from an extract of wheat flour, which enhances the flavor of dishes to which it is added.Chinese have a very unique eating utensil. Their eating utensil is the chopsticks. Chinese use chopsticks as easily as Americans use forks. Chopsticks are like an extension of a man's fingers. There are different types of chopsticks. The Chinese variety is rugged on the "eating end." Chopsticks are not only used for eating. They are also used for cooking....
