A Biography of Steven Seagal, an American Actor Essay

Steven Seagal was born on April 10, 1951, in Lansing Michigan. His mother was a medical technician and his father was a high school math teacher. When Steven was 5 the family moved to Fullerton, CA. At age 7, Steven became interested in the martial arts and discovered a Japanese dojo in nearby Garden Grove, and began studying Aikido. In 1971, he left for Japan to study with the masters in Zen, Buddhism and Aikido. In 1975 he married and continued to live in Japan where he inherited a dojo from his Japanese father in law. Seagal lived in Asia for many years and had become close to several CIA agents. Seagal returned to the United States in 1987, where he set up a martial-arts school, the Ten Shin Dojo, in West Hollywood. His acting debut began with the cop flick Above The Law. This was followed by several more successful films, including Under Siege, Under Siege 2, Hard to Kill, Out for Justice, Marked for Death, On Deadly Ground, Executive Decision, The Patriot and went on with other hits which he wrote and directed. He currently likes to play the guitar and writes his own music to play with his band, the Sariswati band at concerts. Steven also has a big family. His first marriage was to Kelly LeBrock, which eventually failed due to their differences in November 1994. His second wife was Adrienne La Russa who filed for an annulment when she found out that Kelly LeBrock was carrying Steve's child. And his third marriage was to Miyako Seagal who he has now also divorced him. As a result of these marriages, Steve has seven children, two sons and five daughters. Kentaro Seagal and Dominic San Rocco Seagal are his 2 sons, Ayako Seagal, Annaliza Seagal, Dominick Seagal, Arissa Seagal and Savannah Seagal are his daughters.
