Summary of Career Requirements and Options of a Wildlife Biologist Essay

A wildlife biologist studies habits, traits, and behaviors of wildlife. Some of their duties may include estimating wildlife populations, studying how animals interact with other species, how animals reproduce, and movement patterns, collecting data for further analysis, and give presentations on research findings.Education required for an entry level wildlife biologist is a bachelors degree with a major in natural resource management or biological science. Wildlife biologists typically need a masters degree for a higher position. a Ph.D. is generally needed for individual study. Computer experience is necessary, because wildlife biologists are constantly using technology to do their work. Wildlife biologists work in a variety of environments, including offices, laboratories, and outdoors. They work full-time, but may work longer hours depending on if theyre doing fieldwork. The hardest part of being a wildlife biologist is the varying work hours that you would have to adapt to. Being a wildlife biologist has many good and bad characteristics about it. The long hours would be stressful, but the good paycheck would be the benefit. Some advantages of being a wildlife biologist are a high salary, the only entry level requirements for this job is a bachelors degree, they work in a variety of environments, and they get to travel all over the world. Although there are many advantages of being a wildlife biologist, there are just as many disadvantages. Some drawbacks of this career are the long hours theyre required to work, the physically demanding fieldwork, the outlook for this career is only 7, and they may work irregular hours when doing fieldwork. The salary of a beginning wildlife biologist is about 72,000. The salary of an advanced wildlife biologist is around 108,000.Some aspects of this career that I liked is the fact that they get to travel and be in different environments.
