Stereotype of the Caucasian Blonde Woman Essay

In many movies, people are portrayed in a positive or negative way according to their sex, gender, age, color, and race. Mostly when people watch movies that target a certain stereotype, one tends to judge others in real life. This creates stereotypes in movies which can lead to many common misconceptions about people in general. For example, people from the Middle East are considered as terrorists, all Asians have small eyes and cant drive, or white blonde girls are considered dumb. In Kennen Ivory Wayans film White Chicks, the Caucasian blonde woman negatively portrays the stereotypical character of the superficial, bossy, dumb blonde who is unintelligent and only desires money, boys, and fame.In the film, two African American FBI agents, Shawn and Marlon Wayan, who portray Kevin and Marcus Copeland, go undercover as two white girls, Brittany and Tiffany Wilson (Maitland Ward and Anne Duek) to protect them from being kidnapped. Towards the first scene of the movie, Shawn and Marlon are assigned to pick up the Wilson sisters at the airport. Rather than greeting the FBI agent, Tiffany Wilson looks at Shawn and says, We already gave to the United Negro fund. Tiffanys act of racism makes her character a portrayal of a common stereotypical white blonde chick. After arriving at the hotel, the sisters panic because of what happens on the highway coming to the hotel. The sisters got a cut on their faces which they cannot have because they are going to a fancy party. Without trying to figure a way to cover her cut with makeup, Brittany comments Oh, My God! Im going to have a B.F. Then Tiffany adds Shes going to have a bitch fit! These two beginning scenes already illustrate an idea about rich white blonde girls that they are mostly snobby, bad-tempered and dumb.
